July literary event with OOTA 

Out of the Asylum Writers' Group will hold a 'members only' literary event at Mattie Furphy House on Friday, July 21, 10am to midday. For details visit ootawriters.com

OOTA is delighted to offer ‘members only’ monthly literary events in 2023 on Friday mornings once a month, from 10am to midday.

These will be combinations of writing, readings, literary discussion, and invited authors, for writers of both prose and poetry.

The next event will be on Friday, July 21 at Mattie Furphy House, featuring prose discussion and readings by Bruce Russell and Alison Davis.

Bruce Russell is an award-winning novelist with many

He will discuss his writing journey and what inspires him

to write, as well as read excerpts from his novels.

Dr Russell has years of experience in teaching, mentoring and coaching in fiction and creative non-fiction.

Davis is a local short story and flash fiction writer.

She has won the Stuart and Hadow short story competition and Now and Then Literature

Prize, and received prizes or been shortlisted in Spilt Ink, Armadale Writers Award, Love To Read Local Flash Fiction, Bath Flash Fiction Award and Peter Cowan 600 Short Story Competition. Her stories appear in Twice Not Shy, Three Can Keep a Secret, Award Winning Australian Writing and OOTA’s anthologies.
