About the event
In 1965 João Guimarães Rosa published Grande Sertão: Veredas, Brazil’s most iconic work of literature, written in a blend of backlands dialect and made-up language. The award-winning Australian literary translator Alison Entrekin is working on a new English-language translation of this literary masterpiece with the support of the Itaú Cultural and the Australia Council.
