About the event
Born in Southern Cross (WA), Glen taught English at Edith Cowan University for over 55 years and is Founding Director of ECU’s International Centre for Landscape and Language. He is an Honorary Life Member of FAW, having twice served as President of FAWWA, served on its management committee for 30 years, and been President of the national FAW body. Featured in 30+ anthologies world-wide, his poems have won prizes and been translated into several languages. Glen has written poetry in Italian and Mandarin.
'In the Presence of Greatness' contains 20 stories of love, privation and war set in the landscapes of Italy, China and Outback WA. These stories, described by Patsy Millet as 'cover[ing] the whole spectrum of turn-ons for the discriminating literary traveller,' delve into the richness of Dr Phillips' global experience and attention to the subtleties of landscape, language and character.
