In this poignant, vivid memoir, Victor tells the story of he and his siblings, who were separated from their grandparents in the UK, handed over to the Church of England and sent to the land of ‘oranges and sunshine’ as ‘good settler stock’ – without their parents.  The story is interwoven with fascinating vignettes of Victor’s father’s life: Fred’s enlistment in WWI; his time at Gallipoli; his later extraordinary life in England; and subsequent return to Australia.  Perth launch to be held later in the year.
